Please find attached the Official Guide for this weekends Beach Championships (Nippers, Youth & Open) and the Nipper Championships (Ocean). Note the earlier start time for Youth/Open events on Saturday – now marshaling at 6:45am. Events have been bought forward due to numbers and weather forecast.
NIPPER QUALIFYING EVENTS NOW DRAWN
We have now done the semi-final draws for Nipper Beach Flags, Beach Sprint, Board Rescue, Board Race, and Iron Race. These can be viewed via SurfTec results.
OFFICIAL REQUIREMENTS
Each club is required to provide officials to the ratio of one official for every 15 competitors. All officials are to attend the briefing which is at 6:00am Saturday and 6:30am Sunday and Monday mornings at the Trigg Island club rooms.
MORNING WARM UPS – SUNDAY & MONDAY
Please use the designated warm up areas as follows:
Water 1 and Water 3 for swim warm ups
Water 2 and Water 4 for board warm ups
WATER SAFETY
All water safety personnel need to be appropriately attired in water safety rash vest and/or orange cap.
COMPETITORS
All competing require an SLSWA Wristband. Wristbands will be available at a cost of $5.00 at the SLSWA Administration Van. Nippers are to wear their Club Competition Cap and Hi-Viz Woodside Nippers Vest.
ONE BREAK RULE
Please be advised, to maintain consistency across arenas and Nipper age groups, we will allow a break in all Nipper age categories. A reminder to all that when a Nipper competitor breaks after a false start, they are disqualified, except in beach flags where they are eliminated not disqualified.
AGE MANAGERS PASSES
Wristband passes will be issued at Team Managers Briefings. A maximum of four wristbands per gender will be provided per club (eg 4 blue for managers of females and 4 green for managers of males). Only those wearing the appropriate wristband will be allowed in the competition arena and are to leave the arena if requested to do so by Referees or Event Management.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Each club is allowed two (2) photographers. These members are to sign in at the SLSWA Administration Van and will be issued with a Pink Media Vest allowing access to arena. Official photographers are required to leave the arena if requested to do so by a Referee or Event Management. The vest cannot be given to another member without SLSWA approval. All vests are to be returned at the end of each day.
MEDAL PRESENTATIONS
Please note, medal presentations will be held in each arena. Where possible, medal presentation will occur directly after the conclusion of the event.
PROGRAM
Please note the program of events is subject to change at the discretion of the Event Committee. Changes to the program will be announced over the PA as soon as practical.
We will not be holding in an arena for a competitor coming from another arena.
TEAM CHANGES
Team changes can be made by completing the attached form. Please copy enough for your purposes. Only competitors entered in the Championships can be a substitute. SLSWA will not be amending results post event due to clubs failure to update us on team changes.
SECURITY
There will be limited security for SLSWA equipment. Clubs and Competitors are reminded that equipment left on the beach is at their own risk.
PARKING
Only park in the designated parking bays and obey the respective time limits. Rangers will be checking throughout the weekend.
